APS6 Senior People & Culture Advisor (Health & Safety)
WHS advisory roles supporting health, safety, wellbeing, risk and incident management across a national APS agency. Various capital city locations.

This federal government agency plays an important national regulatory role, working to protect the safety, wellbeing and quality of services delivered to the Australian community. The organisation has a strong focus on building public confidence, improving standards, and supporting safe, high-quality outcomes.
The Role
We are seeking 2 x APS6 Senior People and Culture Advisors – Health and Safety for 12-month non-ongoing opportunities.
These roles sit within a Wellbeing, Health and Safety team and support the management of health, safety and wellbeing across the workforce. You will provide practical advice to staff and managers, support WHS compliance, contribute to key projects, and help manage physical and psychosocial risks.
The roles are open to multiple locations, including Canberra, Parramatta, Surry Hills, Darwin, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart, Melbourne and Perth. Full-time or part-time arrangements may be considered.
Some of your duties may include
- Supporting compliance with WHS legislation, regulations and internal requirements
- Providing timely health, safety and wellbeing advice to staff and managers
- Supporting the delivery of WHS projects and wellbeing initiatives
- Managing hazard and incident reporting, investigation and resolution processes
- Supporting psychosocial and physical risk management, including risk assessments and controls
- Preparing correspondence, reports, submissions and briefing material
- Maintaining accurate records, data and reporting to support WHS decision-making
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including managers, P&C teams and WHS providers
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar WHS role within the APS
- Strong experience in risk management, incident investigations and psychological safety
- Ability to coach, guide and educate leaders on best practice people management and WHS matters
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to use HR/WHS systems
- Qualifications in Human Resources or Work Health and Safety will be highly regarded
