The Organization:
Small, policy driven agency which is centrally based. Offering good WFH and flexibility generally.

The Role:
As the APS6 Senior Finance Officer you’ll be managing the operational finances, supported by 2 staff in your team. You’ll have the responsibility to support the EL1 to deliver the EOM and EOFY financial reporting, and also support them to develop, deliver and report on the budget for the department.

It’s a small department with a modest budget which means the role is manageable for a motivated and capable APS6.

Then role will be offered as an initial 6 months non-ongoing contract, with a view to recruit permanently before the end of financial year.

They embrace flexibility as a department and have 2 days per week WFH. There is designated, discounted parking available under the building.

Your Skills and Experience:
It’s expected that you will have completed (or be close to completion of) your CA/CPA qualification and be an Australian Citizen and hold a Baseline clearance.

The client is open to meeting people who have well rounded experience from the private sector or APS. Demonstrated experience in support of the delivery of EOM and EOFY statements, as well as supporting budget development and management, is relevant for this opportunity. A foundation of experience in financial operations and supervising a small team are also important.

Strong communication skills, initiative and personal drive are also important to be successful in this role.
