APS6 Senior Advisor – HR Reporting
Lead HR reporting, workforce planning and data insights in a flexible APS People team with hybrid working options.

- Previous HR reporting experience essential
We are seeking an experienced APS6 Senior HR Advisor to support HR reporting, data analysis, workforce planning and broader People team priorities within a Commonwealth agency.
This role can be offered as a labour-hire contract, non-ongoing engagement or temporary transfer s26.
Locations include Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne. Flexible working arrangements are supported, including working from home, with an expectation to attend the office 2–3 days per week.
This is a full-time opportunity, however part-time arrangements may be considered.
Working within a small People team, this role will suit someone who enjoys HR data, reporting and workforce insights, while still being willing to contribute to broader HR priorities as required.
Duties
- completing monthly HR data cleansing and reporting activities
- preparing business partner dashboards and executive HR dashboards
- analysing HR data and providing insights to senior stakeholders
- leading external reporting requirements such as WGEA, APS Census, Annual Report and State of the Service
- supporting workforce planning strategies and initiatives
- conducting research and analysis to inform HR strategy
- providing practical HR advice to managers and employees
- reviewing employee data, remuneration and superannuation information for accuracy
- mentoring and supporting junior staff
- assisting with pay and recruitment matters when required
- demonstrated experience in HR reporting, data analysis or workforce reporting
- strong Excel skills
- ability to analyse data and identify meaningful HR insights
- experience supporting workforce planning, HR strategy or people-related reporting
- sound understanding of contemporary HR practices and Commonwealth employment frameworks
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- Power BI experience will be highly regarded.
To be eligible for this position, you must be an Australian citizen and hold, or be able to obtain, a Baseline security clearance.
