The Role
An opportunity is available for an organised and proactive APS4 HR Admin Officer to join a collaborative People team. This is a 4-month labour-hire contract based in Canberra city, with the possibility of extension and a pathway to ongoing employment for the right candidate.

Supporting a high-performing HR team, you'll play an important role in ensuring the smooth delivery of people services by coordinating administration, managing confidential information and supporting a range of HR activities.

Please note: this role is an immediate start and applicants must have a current Baseline security clearance (or higher). Please outline your clearance in your application.


Duties
  • Provide administrative support to a busy HR team and leadership.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and track actions.
  • Monitor shared inboxes and manage correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation is up to date.
  • Support HR processes, reporting and compliance activities.
  • Respond to routine employee enquiries and escalate matters where required.
  • Coordinate internal training sessions and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Assist with drafting internal communications and HR-related content.
  • Contribute to improving administrative processes and team resources.

To be successful, you will bring:
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and enjoys supporting a busy team. You'll ideally have experience working in HR within a government environment, however we're also keen to hear from strong administrative professionals who have an interest in building a career in Human Resources. Candidates who are currently studying, or have recently completed, a Certificate or qualification in Human Resources will be highly regarded.

Strong communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage competing priorities and experience using the Microsoft Office suite will set you up for success in this role.

Above all, you'll be someone who can handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion while delivering excellent administrative support.

And don't forget, a current Baseline security clearance is mandatory.
