The Role
Working alongside communication and creative professionals, you will produce engaging and accessible video content for internal and external audiences in a medium size, busy federal government agency. You will manage video projects from initial concept and scripting through to filming, editing and post-production.

The successful candidate will provide practical advice to stakeholders, translate complex information into clear visual stories and ensure all content aligns with the department’s brand, accessibility and communication requirements.

This role is open to permanent (ongoing) public servants at the APS5 or APS6 level who are seeking an ongoing transfer (s26).


Some of your responsibilities may include:
  • Planning, scripting, filming and editing video content for digital and internal communication channels
  • Managing video projects from initial brief through to final delivery
  • Operating professional camera, lighting and audio equipment
  • Providing advice on video production approaches, timelines and technical requirements
  • Preparing content featuring senior executives or other key spokespeople
  • Sourcing appropriate footage, music, graphics and animation
  • Ensuring content meets accessibility, copyright, licensing and branding requirements
  • Maintaining video equipment and supporting improvements to production processes
To be considered for this role, you will have:
  • Current APS5 or APS6 experience in the APS
  • Current AGSVA clearance
  • Demonstrated experience producing professional video content from concept through to completion
  • Strong filming, editing and post-production skills
  • Experience using professional camera, lighting and audio equipment
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly Premiere Pro and After Effects
  • Knowledge of accessibility, copyright and licensing requirements
A relevant qualification in media, screen production, communications or a related discipline would also be beneficial.
