Capital Recruit is proud to be partnering with Cricket ACT to recruit for their new Business Development / Partner Engagement Manager.
This is a wonderful opportunity to work with the governing body of Cricket in the ACT where you will play a crucial role in expanding the organisations commercial and community partnerships.

Cricket ACT provides services to all cricketers of all skill sets and levels of experience in the Canberra region and supports the region’s community cricketing organisations.

The Role

Working closely with the Senior Leadership team, the Business Development / Partner Engagement Manager will identify and secure new business streams, develop and maintain existing partnerships and enhance the overall commercial profile of Cricket ACT.
Working across 2 channels you will provide support to the commercial arm of Cricket ACT as well as the Cricket ACT Foundation.
  
Key responsibilities
  • Research and identify new business development opportunities, including new markets, growth areas and partnership opportunities.
  • Develop growth strategies and plans with clear objectives to increase revenue growth and achieve organisational goals.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop compelling partnership proposals and marketing collateral.
  • Negotiate and secure mutually beneficial commercial agreements that align with Cricket ACT’s objectives and values.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate partners, local businesses, and local organisations.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the commercial partnerships, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
  • Work closely with the Australian Sports Foundation to track progress and explore new philanthropic opportunities.
  • Attend match day and corporate events representing Cricket Act and hosting Cricket Act Partners.
The successful candidate will have
  • Proven ability to drive strategic partnerships with a focus on revenue growth, business expansion, and long-term value creation. Demonstrated success in building collaborations that deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation expertise, with a relationship and results-driven mindset and a passion for continuous improvement. Adept at navigating complex negotiations and securing mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience leading high-value partnerships and philanthropic appeals. Skilled at influencing and facilitating outcomes across diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing multi-stakeholder environments, including negotiating and executing commercial funding agreements with clarity, professionalism, and attention to compliance.
  • You will be a collaborative team player who proactively contributes beyond core responsibilities, brings forward innovative ideas, and takes initiative to implement them while thinking strategically and creatively.
