Capital Recruit is partnering with a Federal Government organisation to source an experienced APS6 Project Management Officer (PMO) to support the delivery of a portfolio of high-profile digital transformation initiatives.


  • Location: Canberra, ACT
  • Employment Type: Labour Hire Contract
  • Contract Length: Initial 12-month contract with extension options of up to 24 months.
  • Applications Close: 12:00pm, 24 July.


The Opportunity As the APS6 Project Management Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of multiple digital projects. Working closely with project managers, technical teams, business stakeholders and senior executives, you will contribute to project governance, reporting, planning, risk management and assurance activities.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support project governance, reporting, assurance, benefits realisation and risk management activities.
  • Coordinate project planning across multiple workstreams, including schedules, milestones and dependencies.
  • Monitor project performance and provide accurate reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentation, governance artefacts, registers and reporting frameworks.
  • Identify, manage and escalate project risks, issues and decisions.
  • Coordinate activities across delivery, business, change management and project teams.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, briefing material and governance papers.
  • Foster strong working relationships across business, policy and technical stakeholders.


About You To be successful, you will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience working in a Project Management Office (PMO) within complex project or program environments.
  • Strong understanding of project governance frameworks and reporting practices.
  • Experience managing project risks, issues, dependencies and project controls.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting digital, ICT or transformation projects will be highly regarded.


Essential Requirements:
  • Current Baseline Security Clearance
