An integrated factual entertainment company working across television, theatrical, corporate, educational and government communications.
The client works in innovative short form and digital media. The Digital team creates content for the government and private sector and is growing its offerings in these market.
THE ROLE
The BDM will have a background in media and bring an understanding of sales and marketing principles to foster relationships, identify potential clients, and unlock new digital based revenue streams. The role requires a balance of business acumen and interpersonal skills, as the BDM is required to be across market trends and the competitive landscapes for B2G and B2B as they cultivate partnerships that align with the company long-term objectives. As an architect of growth, the BDM will be a catalyst for innovation in a rapidly evolving business environment, expanding the company's market presence and revenue streams.
The BDM will be a highly motivated go getter who is excited to be part of a small dynamic business unit working to grow the area whilst also leveraging off the experience and profile of the broader group.
Reporting into the COO, the BDM will work alongside the Digital Commercial Manager whilst also collaborating with the creative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Researching and identifying new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services
- Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives to boost the business unit’s market presence
- Developing growth strategies and plans with clear objectives to increase revenue and expansion of the Digital business.
- Maintain an understanding the needs of new and existing clients and how Digital’s products or services align with their goals
- Negotiating with stakeholders and drafting business proposals and contracts to close deals and secure new business
- Collaborating with internal departments to ensure company goals are met
- Attending conferences, meetings and industry events to network and promote the company
- Working closely with executive staff including the Digital Commercial Manager to convert prospects into customers and to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities
- Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills to enhance business development efforts
- Utilising CRM software to track progress with new prospects, manage business leads, and analyse data to inform business strategies.
- Manage the digital channels for the business unit and work with the wider Company on communication opportunities.
THE PERSON
- Proven marketing and sales experience with demonstrable key achievements
- Excellent communication and planning skills with a strong understanding of digital media.
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing, media, or similar preferred
- Ability to communicate well with stakeholders and external parties
- Ability to leverage CRM tools for key performance metrics and data to provide insights and facilitate strategic business recommendations

A base salary circa $100,000 (negotiable on experience)
