The Organisation:
Specialised Federal Government Department, centrally based, competitive conditions.
The Role:
This is a temporary EL2 position where you will be leading the financial statements team in the CFO unit. You’ll be managing both the administered and departmental statements process. Your role will be to lead, develop, motivate and drive the team performance.
You’ll be backfilling another EL2 who is moving into another role within the team. There will be 9 staff to manage. You’ll need to provide technical leadership, as well as delegation and direction etc.
The department has undergone significant change in the last few years and this role plays an important role in continuing with the progress that has been made. They have grown in scope and funding.
This is a temporary role available via an S26 transfer for 12 months, or via a non-ongoing contract. There is an intention to make this a permanent appointment in the future.
Your Skills and Experience:
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate previous financial accounting experience from within a federal government environment.
You need to be an Australian Citizen, with a Baseline clearance. Experience of successful management and completion of a number of financial statement cycles coupled with professional qualifications (CA/CPA) will make you a front runner for this role.
You must be able to demonstrate Leadership & supervisory experience coupled with a strong understanding of the pressures & expectations of the EL2 level.
