Federal government department expecting a permanent and project-based increase in funding. This will provide lots of opportunity to develop your external budget skills and experience.
The Role:
This EL1 external budget role is available as a non-ongoing contract for 12 months. The team is led by an established EL2 who provides strong technical leadership and has created a strong cultural identity.
You will be focused on providing costing support to business lines for NPPs. This involves lots of liaison with key contacts in the business lines and you will use established tools to provide cost modelling and cost analysis. You’ll also be involved in the production and delivery of the PBS and PAES through collaboration with the broader team.
The role is busy but not overwhelming – certainly in comparison to other external budget roles. You will enjoy good W/L balance, and they also provide up to 2 days WFH.
Your Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience from an external budget role. However, our client appreciates that they need to spread the net and see the value in the transferable skills set of people coming from internal budgets roles, or finance business partner (FBP) roles. Federal government experience is still vitally important as you will need to understand the cabinet submission process, as well as having some exposure to costing.
You must be an Australian Citizen and ideally hold at least a Baseline clearance.
